Vouchers
Vouchers are prepaid WiFi codes that customers can use to activate packages. Generate vouchers in bulk through voucher series, then distribute them to customers for self-activation.
Overview
The voucher system has two parts:
Voucher Series - Batch generation settings for creating multiple vouchers at once.
Vouchers - Individual codes generated from a series that customers redeem.
Navigate to Voucher Series to create bulk vouchers, or Vouchers to view individual codes.
Voucher Code Configuration
Before creating voucher series, configure how voucher codes are generated in Operator Settings.
Code Generation Settings
Navigate to Operator Settings → Captive Portal Configuration → Voucher Configuration to customize:
Voucher Code Length - Length of generated voucher codes (5-15 characters). Default: 10 characters.
Voucher Code Type - Character type used in voucher codes:
- Number - Numeric codes only (0-9). Example:
1234567890 - Alpha - Alphabetic codes only (A-Z). Example:
ABCDEFGHIJ - Alphanumeric - Mix of letters and numbers (A-Z, 0-9). Example:

Best Practices
Code configuration - Set voucher code type and length in Operator Settings before generating your first series:
- Use Number type for easy verbal communication
- Use Alphanumeric for maximum security and uniqueness
- Shorter codes (5-8 chars) are easier to type but less unique
- Longer codes (12-15 chars) provide more combinations
Naming series - Include date/month and purpose (e.g., "Hotel Dec 2024", "Summer Promo").
Quantity planning - Generate based on expected demand. Avoid waste by using expiry dates.
Prefix selection - Use clear, short prefixes that identify the series (e.g., "VIP", "GUEST", "PROMO").
Price strategy - Set voucher price to match or discount package price for bulk purchases.
Expiry management:
- Use Package Validity for evergreen vouchers
- Use Activation Time for promotional/seasonal vouchers
Location control - Disable "Use Another Location" to restrict vouchers to specific venues.
Troubleshooting
Vouchers Not Working
Check series status - Ensure status is "Active" (green).
Verify expiry - Confirm vouchers haven't passed expiration date.
Confirm location - Check if "Use Another Location" is enabled if redeeming elsewhere.
Cannot Delete Series
Active vouchers exist - Wait until vouchers expire or are used.
Solution - Set series status to Inactive instead of deleting.
Wrong Package Assigned
Cannot change after creation - Edit not possible.
Solution - Create new series with correct package, delete old series if unused.
Next Steps
After generating vouchers, customers can redeem them on the WiFi login page. Monitor voucher usage through the Vouchers list and redemption statistics.
